The Voices of Multilocal: Celebrating International Women’s Day

This year's International Women’s Day is all about inspiring inclusion. At Multilocal we’d like to take this day as an opportunity to celebrate all the incredible women who contribute to our team and continue to commit ourselves to inclusivity in every corner of our business.? To mark the celebrations, we asked our team to share with us what International Women’s Day means to them. It’s important that we inspire and encourage our colleagues to speak up in times like this, here’s what our’s had to say…

Annitta Musendo , Client Services Operations

For me, International Women's Day serves as a powerful reminder of the progress we've made in advancing gender equality, while also acknowledging the work that still lies ahead. It's a day to celebrate the achievements of women around the world, honour those who have paved the way for future generations, and recommit to breaking down barriers and biases that continue to hinder true inclusivity.

Inspiring inclusion, to me, means creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. It means recognising and embracing the diverse perspectives, experiences, and talents that each individual brings to the table, regardless of gender or any other identity marker.

As a young woman navigating the professional world, I believe that inclusive environments are not only necessary for fostering innovation and creativity but also essential for my personal growth and success. I am grateful to be part of a company like Multilocal Media that prioritises diversity and inclusion and actively seeks input from its employees to shape a more inclusive future.

Rachel Taylor, Ad Operations Analyst

International Women’s Day isn't just a date on the calendar; it's a reminder of the incredible strength, resilience, and achievements of women around the world. It's about recognising the women who have shaped my life and the countless others who continue to break barriers. Inspiring inclusivity means fostering an environment where every individual, regardless of gender, is empowered and valued. It's personal because it's a call to action, a commitment to challenging stereotypes, and a celebration of the diverse voices that contribute to our collective journey. As I reflect on International Women's Day, I'm reminded of the importance of championing equality, supporting one another, and creating a world where everyone can thrive, irrespective of gender.

Thomas Than , Chief Financial Officer?

This important day serves as a reminder of the value and importance of adopting inclusivity measures, in all aspects of life.?

In the workplace, we need to create environments that will allow for equal opportunities, to be inclusive, promote diversity and welcome individuals from all backgrounds. This variety, diversity and inclusivity will benefit both? individuals and the overall work environment - creating a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking culture. A company's strength is in its people - and promoting the aforementioned will only drive success - not just in the workplace.

James Leaver , CEO

International Women’s Day and inclusivity, for me, is absolutely essential to the lifeblood of this business and life in general.? We thrive on the diversity of the individuals in this organisation and will grow because of it.? As the father of a teenage girl, I want to know that her opportunities are the same as my son’s and everyone else's daughters and sons and I pride myself on the fact that at Multilocal that’s the case.

Farangiz F. , Senior Ad Operations Analyst

As a first-gen immigrant, International Women's Day holds a special place in my heart. It's a day to honour the courage and determination of women, and personally speaking, my mum, who embraced the opportunities and challenges of immigrating to a new country, to ensure her daughters had access to good education and, in turn, better futures. Witnessing her journey has instilled in me both belief and gratitude in the power of inclusivity and empowerment. IWD to me serves as a reminder of the importance of developing environments where everyone has the same opportunity to contribute and succeed!

Charlie Parkes-Patel , Revenue Partnerships Director?

International Women’s Day represents our attitudes toward equality, but so much more needs to be done– we are making changes, and this day helps to continue to drive that change but it should be something implemented into the everyday.

Abbee Czarnota , Audience Management Specialist

To me, International Women's Day and inspiring inclusivity mean embracing flexible working. It's about giving women the freedom to balance work and life on their own terms, whether it's through remote options or flexible hours. By being flexible, we break down barriers and create a more inclusive workplace where women can shine while juggling their responsibilities. Additionally, recognising the importance of menstrual leave is crucial. Offering this type of leave acknowledges the unique challenges women face and supports their well-being during menstruation. It's another step towards equality, ensuring women can prioritise their health without fear of repercussions at work.

Robin Rivera , CS Operations Team Lead?

Women have been for long advocating for equal opportunity on employment, benefits, etc. For me, women see things from a different perspective. They are more nourishing, provide more compassion and a motherly-love approach in many aspects of life. They keep toxic masculinity in check. Empowered women should always be given the opportunity and platform to speak their minds and promote a positive change in this world.

Laura A. Morais , Ad Operations Analyst

For me, it means the opportunity to express my potential knowing that I can genuinely contribute to society. Men and women are different in so many ways, however I believe that these differences are complementary. There's no divine rule that says one is more valuable than the other. And here at Multilocal I've always felt respected, heard and safe to be who I am in essence.?

These are just a few of the inspiring reflections our team had to share this International Women’s Day. While this day holds great significance, it's essential to remember that gender equality matters every single day, not just once a year. If you haven’t already, Take a moment to think about how you can contribute to fostering a welcoming workplace environment for everyone, regardless of who they are. At Multilocal, this is something we are trying to do and evolve in every single day.?

Happy International Women’s Day from our team to yours!
