As October wraps up, we've gathered some of our best content to keep you informed. This month, we're focusing on post-processing techniques for customizing LLM output, zero-shot and few-shot learning with LLMs, and our new video series “Voices in AI”.

Enjoy!

LLM guides & tutorials

> Customizing LLM Output: Post-Processing Techniques - First up, we have an article by Pedro Gabriel Gengo Louren?o, discussing various post-processing methods in the LLM space, from foundational to advanced, while addressing the obstacles you might face and how to navigate them effectively.

> How to Optimize GPU Usage During Model Training - Following that, Mirza Mujtaba and Kilian Kluge walk you through critical GPU metrics and performance optimization techniques. They explain how adjusting batch size, selecting the right framework, or refining data pipeline design can resolve GPU inefficiencies, alongside advice on monitoring GPU, CPU, and memory usage to address bottlenecks.

> Zero-Shot and Few-Shot Learning with LLMs - Next, Micha? Oleszak unpacks zero-shot and few-shot prompting, offering a clear breakdown of how these approaches help LLMs tackle new tasks. He shares practical examples and advice on when to apply these methods and, just as importantly, when they may not be the best option.

In zero-shot prompting, the model answers based on its general knowledge. In few-shot prompting, it answers conditioning on examples provided in the prompt.

> How to Migrate From MLFlow to Neptune - Moving on, Axel Mendoza guides you through the entire process of changing the experiment tracker and migrating from MLflow to Neptune. From transferring data and adapting training scripts to introducing the new UI to the team, this article covers it all.

> Scale And Track Your AI/ML Workflows: neptune.ai + Flyte & Union Integration - Finally, Patrycja Jenkner introduces the new integration between Neptune and Flyte, an open-source workflow orchestrator by Union.ai . The plugin automatically logs Flyte’s execution metadata into Neptune and adds a direct link to its app, offering seamless access.

Voices in AI

This month we also bring you a video series featuring AI/ML professionals as they share their career paths, challenges, and gen AI projects they’re actively working on.

You can find the full playlist on our YouTube channel. Look out for new interviews every week!

?? Bonus

NeurIPS 2024 is just around the corner, and we’re giving away a FREE ticket!?

If you're an AI researcher working on foundational model training, join us for a 30-minute video interview where we’ll ask you to explain your work at 3 different levels of complexity:

  • Level 1: for a 1st or 2nd grader – simplify it as much as possible.
  • Level 2: for a high school or university student – make it accessible with a minimal understanding of the subject.?
  • Level 3: for a peer AI researcher – go deep into the technical details.

Get all the giveaway details here.

That sums up our news for the month. Thanks for being part of our community!
