Green School Bali

We chose well. We chose to leave for Bali to grant our kids and (as it worked out) ourselves a year at Green School. This extraordinary school. This school, where our kids learn so much, and so different. They learn integrated. Combining their maths and literacy in working with the UN SDG (Sustainable Development Goals). They learn about, the world refugee problem, about poverty about, wellbeing, and so on. They learn to cooperate to find solutions, to experiment, they learn how to fail without blame and shame, and how to try again. Well you get my point, it is a different school in an extraordinary community of parents, teachers and students. It is a community of learners. I wrote about this in previously published articles.

Every year at Green School, high school students, teachers, parents, staff work together on VOICES. Voices that should to be heard in the traditie of V-day and the Vagina Monologues. In the fully booked Sangkep (the largest hall on campus) an audience of about 350 spectators watched and heard the intimate, idoctrinating, vulnerable, moving, shocking, vibrant and loving indictment of 20 perfomers on Misogyny.

A Collection of Performance Pieces Amplifying Diverse Voices and Sharing Stories of Solidarity Strength and Survival.

I make a deep bow for the guts and courage of the cast and another one for their outstanding performance.In the next weeks I will share all I have watched. I tried to find the original sources of the texts. I reach out to you and hope and wish that you will share it too. In your own style and way. So that the Voices can be heard and heard and heard all over again.

Mind you that all of the texts are from, about, and experienced by children and young adults! My deepest respect and gratitude go to them; the survivors. At some point, their suffering gave them the courage to step forward. Remember that!

This courage will help others to step forward, and bystanders to listen to watch to acknowledge to share and to help. AND TO ACT.
