VOICEMAIL VERSION 001
What can I hope to learn about my collection of saved voicemail messages? Over the last couple of years, I made a conscious decision to save every voicemail recording of a friend or family member.
Whatever I achieve, these "voicemail video clips" will have a universal appeal to anyone who has a mother, father, son, or daughter. I have an old cassette tape recording of my father dictating his thoughts a couple of years before he passed away in 1989. I always felt lucky to listen to that cassette tape and hear his voice since he passed away from Cancer. I wanted to give this same gift to my kids and all of my nieces and nephews. Voicemails of their parents wishing me a Happy Birthday or just calling to saying hi and leaving a goofy message.
Already I have found a couple of Gems. My daughter's five-year-old voice in multiple emails compared to her latest twelve-year-old tweeny attitude voicemails of late. As I go looking through multiple laptop computers and countless hard drives to collect every voicemail, I had the foresight to create numerous versions of a "Voicemail" folder in each location. It is fun to find the different rhythms and hear the tone of friends and family over time. Listening to all of the voicemails reminds me how much time has passed and given me a chance to reflect on my life, keeping my focus on what is essential.
It may take a while to locate all of the gems. It is an honor to share this short sample of voicemail sounds. I hope it puts a smile on your face! Here is a short clip of people saying hello to me in they're own unique way.
