The Voice In My Head?

I woke up the other day with the power in my wings to fight.
In my subconscious, I had a full argument with my landlord – where I blamed him for having the audacity to ask for my household items after I requested a little extension with monthly payments. This man must have a whole street in audacity land with his name on it!
‘’Thought-chatter’’ is completely normal for human beings. I am sure we can trade stories about the full-blown conversations we sometimes have with ourselves, it may be the way we make sense of everything that we are.
I remember when I wanted to secure this apartment and how this male figure landlord would toss me back and forth on the things that needed to be fixed before I could move in. I had to get another male figure to deal with him on my behalf.
Challenges like this and many more we can point out that girls face.
Today the International Day of the Girl Child, I raise my voice to share some of the issues and to nudge you to empower girls and amplify their voices.
I am a girl
Girls are breaking barriers and stereotypes posed by exclusion
Do not stay silent,
Your voice matters
Our time is now - Our rights, Our future!
The challenges girls face are not voices in our heads we are not delusional.
We see these unique challenges happen every day and right before our eyes; at the workplace, in social spaces, in nuclear families, in school, and the places of worship.
Learn, unlearn and relearn positive ways we can all create safe spaces and equal opportunities for girls at all levels.
