Most of the time, the role of HR has been questioned by employees of other functions in the organizations because the idea of work to them is all about going in the field ,staying up late in office and bringing business to the organization. The only thing that they consider job of HR is the timely transfer of salary at the end of month, the increments and promotions at the time of appraisal and to police around.

As a HR Person, I can truly understand their point of view because this is how HR sounds to a common lay man and I don’t even feel the need to justify our role because neither we can take the role of a fairy god mother by solving their day to day problems nor we can do their job to make them comfortable.

Yeah you heard me right.

Most of the time, HR department works as a facilitator for smooth implementation of processes and system set by organization by bridging the gap between employees and management but their job is not only to please people as they are expected to make some tough but professional decisions for the benefit of an organization. They can only play their strategic role if the management would empower them and the employees would let them do their job by respecting their roles.

Sometimes it’s the project lead, who is delaying the project or the decision that may result in the profitable business. Even every organization has bunch of toxic employees, who believe in creating obstacles to cover their own competencies . The important point is to look out for real reasons that are hindering the growth at the employee and organizational level.

Blame game is not the solution as you would temporarily able to enjoy the situation but it won’t bring long term benefits. It is more about divide and rule but in the end, only few would able to enjoy the perks by taking advantage of the situation. So the ultimate success of an organization is more about collaboration and acknowledging each other role. Uplifting each other contributes towards empowerment so next time if you hold any grudge against someone, think of the possible root causes rather than staying at the effect side and work towards resolving it.
