As the world comes to terms with the urgent need for more sustainable practices, and the reality of the gaps in green skills job markets, the Green Skills Jobs Taskforce was launched in 2020, its mission is to recommend an action plan for two million high-quality green jobs and the necessary skills needed by 2030.
However, to create a truly inclusive and sustainable future, it is vital to ensure the voices of dyslexic stakeholders and experts are also heard within this task force.
This opportunity for dyslexic people to showcase their skills and create a future world that is sustainable for all while re-writing a future where we can all thrive, I have laid out and justified why we should be included in the discussions and why our skills should be incorporated into job descriptions and job roles.
1. Unleashing the Power of Unique Perspectives:
Including our within green skills, opens doors to a wealth of unique perspectives. We often possess exceptional problem-solving abilities, pattern recognition skills, and spatial awareness. By giving us a platform to share our insights, we tap into a diverse range of innovative ideas and solutions. These fresh perspectives can change and add value to the task force's recommendations, leading to more effective and sustainable strategies for green job creation.
2. Showcasing the Strengths of Dyslexic Skills:
We have faced and overcome numerous challenges throughout our lives, instilling a remarkable level of resilience and adaptability. Providing an opportunity for dyslexic people to showcase their skills within the Green Skills discussions we are acknowledged. This recognition not only empowers dyslexic individuals but also inspires others who are Nurodiverse to contribute their unique abilities to the sustainable job market. By creating a welcoming environment for dyslexic skills, we pave the way for a future that embraces diversity and inclusivity.
3. Fostering Effective Communication and Collaboration:
Effective communication and collaboration are crucial for the success of any project. Dyslexic individuals often have exceptional communication skills as we adapt and find alternative ways to express our thoughts and ideas. By including dyslexia skills in the Green Skills Jobs Taskforce, we foster an environment that values diverse communication strategies. This inclusive approach ensures that all voices are heard and understood, enabling the project to effectively engage stakeholders, advocate for green practices, and drive sustainable job creation.

Closing thoughts:
I want to shout out with frustration over the lack of accelerated change, there are so many factors that people with dyslexia can bring to this and so many other processes, we need to see systemic change that starts with leaders who should be more accountable.
In order to achieve the ambitious goals set by 2030, it is imperative to include and empower dyslexic skills. By embracing our unique perspectives, celebrating our strengths, and promoting effective communication, we can create a community that truly represents the diverse needs of society.
We should seize this opportunity to pave the way for sustainable growth and jobs that are adaptive for all, what a powerful force for this planet's survival!
