?One would expect a lot from a bar inspired by fashion lifestyle giant Vogue, and Vogue Lounge delivers on all counts. Set on the 6th floor of the MahaNakhon Cube, just next to Bangkok's new tallest building, the MahaNakhon Tower, this chic and sophisticated club brings some real swagger to the Bangkok nightlife scene, and combines a deadly punch of superb cocktails, fashionable food, and a gorgeous venue to boot. Start with the drinks, because they really make Vogue Lounge stand above the rest. The extensive menu goes from playfully listed "Pre-Prohibition" to "Prohibition" to "Post-War cocktails," featuring plenty of classics and signature drinks, many of which use house-infused gins all expertly concocted by master mixologist Francesco Moretti (of Shanghai's renowned Bar Rouge fame), and every month the bar's own version of Vogue magazine showcases new specials, such as a Brandy Sour, made with Calvados and peach brandy, smoothed with almond syrup and sweet vermouth. There is also a wide selection of "fashion bites" to go with the drinks. Small trays of Comte cheese smoked bacon burgers, seared tuna skewers, and even mini ice cream cones that are stuffed with creamy salmon and bamboo will take care of any hunger pangs that might arise while enjoying the surroundings. You can either sit outside on the air-conditioned deck, admiring the in-your-face views of the MahaNakhon, or else marvel at the Andy Warhol paintings and David Collins Studio vintage design, right out of a black and white Vogue set from the 60's. Even better yet, with an every day happy hour from 5-9 with two standard drinks for the price of one, there really is no need to go elsewhere. Just settle in and feel the bliss.
