The signing ceremony was witnessed by representatives from the USAID Improving Private Sector Competitiveness Project (IPSC), Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City, and numerous farmers from Long An and Tien Giang provinces. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the sustainable development strategies of VNF and AFIEX. The collaboration is not only based on mutual trust but also aims to achieve a noble goal: helping farmers access high-quality products at reasonable costs while making practical contributions to the sustainable and circular development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector.?

This event was part of the conference "Solutions for Applying Biological Products in Agriculture," supported by the Agency for Enterprise Development under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the IPSC Project.?

Collaboration Between Two Vietnamese Enterprises?

AFIEX is a diversified enterprise with key sectors including the production and trading of animal and aquatic feed, livestock farming, rice processing and export, as well as real estate business. With over 30 years of operation, AFIEX adheres to the philosophy "Together to Success," earning a strong reputation among customers and partners.?

Vietnam Food Joint Stock Company (VNF) prides itself as a pioneer and leader in processing shrimp by-products in Vietnam, offering comprehensive and environmentally friendly solutions. After more than a decade of research, development, and collaboration with domestic and international partners, VNF has introduced high-quality products with bioactive properties, such as food ingredients, peptides (easily digestible hydrolyzed proteins), chitosan (a multifunctional biological polymer), astaxanthin (a powerful antioxidant), and probiotics.?

VNF currently offers over 80 products divided into six main application groups, including livestock, crop cultivation, pet care, food, human health care, and various other industries. With remarkable efforts, VNF was honored as the enterprise with the most innovative breakthrough solution at the Shrimp Industry Summit and received the ASEAN Inclusive Business Award.?

Mr. Doan Quoc Dzung, Director of the Pioneering Enterprise Support Program under the Improving Private Sector Competitiveness Project (IPSC).

At the workshop, Mr. Doan Quoc Dzung, Program Director of the IPSC Project, highlighted that IPSC is a collaborative initiative between Vietnam, represented by the Agency for Enterprise Development under the Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the United States, through USAID. According to him, VNF is among 35 pioneering enterprises selected from 800 participants in the project and ranks among the top three enterprises with outstanding environmental, social, and economic initiatives. VNF’s products, recognized for their natural origins and positive environmental impacts, include recycled materials from protein-rich shrimp by-products and production processes that do not cause soil erosion or degradation, significantly enhancing crop and livestock productivity.?

A Key Step Towards Sustainable Development?

Ms. Tran Dao Hong Ngoc, Sales Director of VNF.

Discussing the cooperation, Ms. Tran Dao Hong Ngoc, Sales Director of VNF, noted that both VNF and AFIEX share a common ideal: to deliver Vietnamese-made products of international quality standards produced using modern technology at affordable costs for domestic farmers. VNF recognized AFIEX as a reputable major player in the industry. Previously, VNF supplied shrimp hydrolysate to AFIEX for aquatic feed production. Through AFIEX's knowledge of VNF products reaching farmers directly, they proposed a distribution partnership, creating new opportunities for both parties.?

“We hope that in the near future, VNF’s products will thrive in the agricultural material market in the Mekong Delta,” emphasized Ms. Tran Dao Hong Ngoc.?

Ms. Thai Minh Ngoc, Deputy General Director of AFIEX.

Ms. Thai Minh Ngoc, Deputy General Director of AFIEX, shared with Vietnam Livestock Magazine that the company has been using VNF’s shrimp hydrolysate products for two years. Currently, AFIEX incorporates VNF’s shrimp hydrolysate into four feed production lines for livestock and aquaculture. Feed supplemented with VNF shrimp hydrolysate has received positive feedback from farmers due to better digestibility, enhanced appetite stimulation, and faster baiting compared to products without shrimp hydrolysate. For fry farmers, feed conversion ratios (FCR) have decreased significantly, while frog farming has shown smoother skin, better growth rates, and higher survival rates.?

Ms. Thai Minh Ngoc further emphasized that modern consumers are increasingly cautious, preferring organic and biological products while minimizing the use of chemicals. Recognizing this trend, AFIEX has increased its use of organic and biological materials, such as VNF products, to provide farmers with safer agricultural products for public health.?

“The collaboration between AFIEX and VNF will enable more farmers currently using self-mixed or alternative feeds to access high-quality biological products, promoting sustainable agricultural development and enhancing AFIEX’s presence in the agricultural material market in the Mekong Delta,” Ms. Thai Minh Ngoc concluded.
