Vlogging: Not For Everyone?

Vlogging is not suitable for everyone. Or at least that's how I feel when starting out. I mean, not everyone feels comfortable discussing their personal and private life and sharing it for anyone to see.
It doesn't matter if you're revealing 1% or 100% of your life's story; if it's not about you, it doesn't qualify as a vlog.
Initially, I didn't consider myself a vlogger because I didn't feel ready to share stories about myself. I valued my privacy. However, I soon realized that if I wanted people to get to know me and understand my advocacy, I needed to open up in some small way. So I took baby steps and started with my "Thought of the Week" series. As I delved deeper into my emotions and shared my thoughts during my Friday Live sessions toward the end of 2022, it was a liberating experience. It felt good, and for the first time, it felt like I was genuinely journaling, or in other words, vlogging. Although I haven't reached the point of sharing my day-to-day experiences, it served as a solid starting point.
Now, you might be wondering how vlogging can benefit solopreneurs, business owners, or freelancers like us on platforms such as LinkedIn. Well, in vlogging, you don't really need to constantly talk about your business. That approach would come across as too salesy.
The most nerdy stuff that we can do is share tutorial videos to improve our SEO or searchability.
However, on other occasions, you can create real vlogs where you share glimpses of your life or even the whole picture (it's up to you). You can integrate your passions, which might interest your niche audience. The important thing is to establish a deeper connection with your viewers. It's perfectly fine if your audience count is small at first. Over time, it will grow. The quality and depth of your connections matter more.
Eventually, people will trust you and want to get to know you better. Then they will seek your opinion, and, ultimately, hire your services or purchase your products.
That's the day that you will say, "Vlogging helped me grow my business".

I believe this is how vlogging can genuinely help us expand our businesses and achieve success as digital entrepreneurs - by building real connections.
What are your thoughts? Are you ready to start vlogging? Perhaps you can share your weekend staycations, morning routines, or lunchtime experiences. It could be a fun endeavor, you know.
Best of luck with that. Cheers!
