VLAIO TETRA Co-Assurance User Group Meeting 4 - 14/03/2023

Last Tuesday, March 14 2023, the fourth user group meeting of our Vlaio #TETRA project Co-Assurance took place. On the agenda where the demystification of IEC 63609 and STPA combined with STPA-Sec applied to an #autonomousmobilerobot.

Before the meeting kicked off, prof. Jeroen Boydens welcomed the participants. Then, PhD researcher Sanketh Ramachandra took over and shared what the Technical Report IEC 63609 is all about.

Since the technical report details the #coengineering process should start from a high-level #riskassessment, this meeting focused on STPA and STPA-Sec, to provide an example of such an #riskanalysis. Postdoctoral researcher Jens Vankeirsbilck started with an introduction to #STPA, based on slides by PhD researcher Laure Buysse (who unfortunately could not be present herself).

Then the participants were treated to a small break, which ended with a visit to our Ultimate Factory lab. During this visit, a demo with the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) was given, to show this project use case to the user group.

Now all participants were aware of the use case, both the STPA and #STPAsec analysis techniques could be explained through their application to the AMR.

The User Group meeting concluded with a networking reception.
