Viva PR: How to make an impact on Linkedin
2023 is a big year for Linkedin, the world’s largest professional network, which has changed the way businesses interact – it turns the grand old age of 20 this year.
This big birthday points to now being a good time to evaluate what your business is doing on Linkedin and where you might take greater advantage of this powerful tool.
Keep reading to discover our top tips for making an impact on Linkedin and just three of our client success stories on this platform.
Here are?some?of our top tips for Linkedin:
Develop a voice and personality
Some businesses may have values already in place, others may not have them formally written down but know?what their brand stands for. Decide whether you should be formal and professional, or friendly and relaxed.
If your business is already using LinkedIn, it’s always worth revisiting this to assess whether the voice you’re using?aligns?with your brand.
Think about what you’re happy sharing
Some businesses will be happy to offer a warts-and-all insight, but that’s?not right for everyone.
Consider how much of your culture you’d like to share, whether you’d be happy revealing contract wins or work you’ve done, or whether you’d be comfortable?offering opinions?on industry news.
Pictures are important
Posts with multiple images tend to be?more successful?than those with one. Also try to avoid stock imagery, instead sharing images of people in action, your products or events.
It's worth remembering that selfies are proven to?increase engagement?on LinkedIn – so don’t be shy if that fits in with your brand personality!
Post regularly
It can’t be emphasised enough that the key to success is?keeping up a presence, and that means sharing content at least weekly.
Keeping a steady drumbeat of posts will ensure you’re always in people’s feeds, so once you start, don’t stop. The?best times to post?are generally said to be 10am on Monday to Thursday and 1pm Friday to Saturday.

And while you’re there, engage (getting the workforce to join in, too!)
Once you’ve posted, stick around to like, comment or share other posts in your feed. Keep an eye on comments, too. Responding to your followers’ comments will bring your post?back into people’s feeds?and keep the conversation going.
Finally, try to get your?workforce to interact?with your LinkedIn page. Let them know when a post has gone out and encourage them to like, share and comment to spread the word even further.
