VitaTex’s specially designed VitaAgri Crop Covers, also known as, ‘Frost Covers’ and, ‘Row Covers, assist in extending the growing season resulting in higher yield crops. They are especially beneficial in climatic conditions that do not favour successful continuous crop development. VitaAgri Crop Covers work by creating a microclimate, keeping soil temperatures higher, adding a protective layer to protect against weather, and keeping pests at bay.

How are VitaAgri Crop Covers Made?

VitaAgri crop covers are made from 100% virgin polypropylene which is turned into a lightweight fabric known as “nonwoven spunbond fabric”.?The raw pellets are heated and extruded into very fine hair-like filaments, which are laid and bonded by a series of rollers to form a durable fabric.

VitaAgri standard crop covers are available in UV blue*, 2100mm wide and sold in bulk rolls in the following thicknesses,

17gsm - Offers ideal protection for vegetables and flowers by preventing the loss of heat and moisture during the most delicate phases of the growing process or by adding a layer of protection against frost in the colder months. It allows for improving and staggering the harvest of lettuce, carrots, potatoes, strawberries, melons, etc. Furthermore, it promotes fast and homogeneous plant rooting.

20gsm - The ideal fabric for winter season protection of plants in vases or plants with woody stems. The greenhouse effect, together with a slight wind-breaking effect, ensures the thermal insulation of both aerial parts and the roots of plants. Being lightweight, the non-woven is easy to use and install.

30gsm - The ideal fabric for winter season protection of plants in vases or plants with woody stems. The greenhouse effect, together with a slight wind-breaking effect, ensures the thermal insulation of both aerial parts and the roots of plants. Being lightweight, the non-woven is easy to use and install.

*Blue is not visible when applied for intended use, the fabric will appear white.
