Vita Worldview
A Sustainable Life Philosophy
Homo sapiens have been on Earth for around 300,000 years and for most of that time we have lived much like any other animal, in balance with nature.
In the last 12,000 years – a time referred to as the Holocene Epoch – human activities have dramatically altered key Earth systems that help keep our planet habitable for life.
There are nine Earth systems that determine a safe operating space for humanity, and six of these have had their safe boundaries exceeded as a result of human activities.
Of particular concern is the increase in atmospheric CO2, the rise of global temperatures, and the collapse of biodiversity, all of which are unprecedented in geological time outside of the asteroid strike that ended the dinosaurs.
Combined, these present an existential threat to human survival, and these threats have arisen in the past 70 years or so, a time referred to as the Anthropocene – the Age of Humans.
Today, our civilization of 8.2 billion people is gripped by a climate & ecological emergency, an emergency being a threat that is so present that it is impossible to avoid harm due to the time it takes to respond.
This emergency is evident through unprecedented weather events that destroy lives, infrastructure and food production, plus ecosystem collapse that threatens the interconnected web of life.
Absent a radical transformation in the relationship between humanity and nature – in particular how we source energy, materials and food, and deal with waste – the human race faces extinction in the coming decades.

This Anthropocene Crisis is not a new threat as scientists have been warning about these things since the 1970s and government and industry have been criminally negligent in their response.
We are left with a vanishingly small window of opportunity to transform civilization's relationship with nature before we trigger a cascade of climate and ecological tipping points, and the humans go the way of the Dodo & Dinosaur.
To make things better, Vita Sapien Organisation is sharing a sustainable life philosophy called Vita Worldview that gives humanity the best chance of surviving the 21st Century and thriving thereafter.
A worldview dictates our behaviour because it frames the way that we perceive reality, being shaped by our religion, spirituality, culture, knowledge and personal experience.
Vita Worldview combines a curated selection of ancient philosophies, environmental science and ecological spirituality to present the belief, knowledge and practice to foster behaviours that will ensure our civilization's survival and longevity.
