Safety milestones
Safety is a core and very important value to The Vita Group. This month we marked two significant milestones:
UAB Vita Baltic International marked 4 years (1460 days to be exact) without an incident at work! Employees celebrated by spending some time together while enjoying some sweet desserts.
Our Custom Foam site in Milton Keynes, UK, marked 5000 days - almost 14 years - without a Loss Time Accident (LTA). The team received vouchers for their impressive commitment to Safety - a critical value for The Vita Group. Custom Foam Site Manager?Vivien Gebbie?said: “We work closely as a team to make safety our number one priority. I am so proud of these milestone achievements and would like to pay tribute to everyone for their hard work and dedication to safety."
Well done to all our colleagues!
Global Chlor-alkali, Vinyl’s & Polyurethanes conference
The Vita Group's Director of Procurement, Robert Evans, presented at this year’s Global Chlor-alkali, Vinyl’s & Polyurethanes conference where he talked about our SBTi target validation and how we have reduced our Scope 1 & 2 emissions by more than 50% - hitting our 2030 target 8 years ahead of schedule.
We have recently announced that by setting ambitious, company-wide emissions reduction targets, we are the FIRST flexible PU manufacturer globally to be validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The Vita Group is now one of just 1730 companies worldwide to have achieved this validation.

Our Science-Based Mission to Net Zero
Scientists agree that to avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change, companies must stay below the 1.5-degree target. Rapid and deep emission cuts are pivotal if we are to halve global emissions before 2030 and achieve net zero before 2050.
There is still so much to do across the industry to ensure we protect the environment for generations to come - which is why we place such high importance on our partnerships. Our collaborative relationships help us accelerate our innovation, drive the circular economy and reduce overall emissions in our industry.
Watch this short video in which Dr.?Mike Murray, Chief Technology Officer, The Vita Group, talks about Vita's ESG agenda and why we have chosen the SBTi approach.
