Visualize Your Way to Career Success: How Kanban Can Help You Be More Agile

As humans, we are wired to process visual information faster and more efficiently than any other form of data.?

That's why it's no surprise that visual prompts are an effective tool to help individuals manage their tasks and achieve their goals.?

If you're someone who needs visual prompts to stay organised then Kanban is an ideal solution for you.

Kanban is a visual project management tool that allows you to visually track the progress of your tasks in real-time.

It provides a simple and flexible framework that can be easily adapted to fit your unique needs.?

The Kanban system uses a visual board to track the progress of tasks in real-time.?

The board is divided into columns that represent the different stages of your actions.

Tasks or cards are placed in the appropriate column and moved through the columns as they progress

It’s a way to prioritize and schedule your career based actions.

Here are some common career actions:

Setting goals: Whether you're starting a new job or you've been in your career for a while, setting goals is an important step to help you stay focused and motivated.?

You can set short-term and long-term goals that align with your career aspirations.

Develop skills: To succeed in your career, you need to continuously develop your skills and knowledge. Look for opportunities to learn new skills and stay up-to-date on industry trends.

You can break down these actions into tasks and place them on? your Kanban board.

Here are some examples of tasks related to common career goals.

Some actions will be recurring so once they are done they will become a “To Do” again.?

An example would be seeking feedback from stakeholders.?

You would meet with stakeholders and request feedback which could lead to more “To Do” actions. And to follow up with stakeholders if changes are required.

Once you have completed the feedback action it would again become a low priority “To Do” to repeat in the future.

As I said before a Kanban board is flexible and adaptable so you can apply it in many ways to suit your needs.
