I am currently halfway through Phase 1 of 75 Hard. For some quick background, 75 hard is a 75-day mental toughness program. Each day you are required to do the following:
·????????(1) 45-minute workout outside – rain, snow, or sun
·????????(1) additional 45-minute workout either inside or outside, workouts can’t be back-to-back
·????????Drink 1 gallon of water
·????????Read 10 pages in an actual book – no audiobooks or podcasts.
·????????Take a progress picture – you don’t have to share it, but you do have to take it
·????????Follow a diet.
·????????No cheat meals or alcohol
You do this for 75 days straight. No substitutions. No Changes.
Phase 1 is the same list as 75 Hard + the following. Phase 1 is 30 days long.
·????????10 minutes of dedicated visualization – what does your dream life look like

·????????5-minute cold shower
·????????+3 items to your power list
The 3 items I added to my power list are 500 words – this article. Dry-fire practice. Stretching.
I chose these three items because they are areas that I want to develop. Become a better and more consistent writer. Become a better shooter. Become more limber and less tin-man.
As I visualize my dream life daily and where I want to be and who is around me, I find that increasing these skills is crucial to getting there. In the past, days have gone by and I didn’t really get anything done. I ate food that didn’t serve me. Did things that were of no benefit.
Having committed myself to this program I can see now that not drinking is powerful. I wake up without a hangover. I have nothing to be embarrassed about the next day. My days are productive.
I can see that visualizing and executing on a consistent basis has power. I see that even on days when I do not have the motivation or drive to get things done and while it may not be my best work, I am getting better every day. At the very least, I am not losing the skill and maintaining it.
One powerful example is that after 75 hard and between/during phase 1 I was visualizing an office space. Having an office full of my team where I came to work every day. Today is my first-time reporting to an office in 5 years. It’s my own personal office, but I can call it my own.
Visualizing and thinking about having an office materialized an office. Not to mention it was my wife who found it for me. All of this comes down to making your thoughts and actions intentional. Doing what you know needs to be done and taking action towards the goals you set.
Some days are not easy, but getting it done is all that matters. Moving forward towards the person you want to be so you can live that dream life. It’s everything.
Spend some time focusing on the life you want to lead. Think about the person you want to become and the skills and talents that person has. You’ll then develop them and become the person you’ve thought about in your mind.?
