Visualisation – the Key to Profound Change

Visualisation – the Key to Profound Change

What makes us human? Most of us are deeply convinced that it’s our conscious minds that represent the highest expression of our humanity. We believe that it’s our ability to think clearly and logically, to plan and strategise, that sets us apart from other species on the planet. Of course, we’re learning more every day from the research that almost everything that we think, feel and believe is based on the activities within the hidden domain of the subconscious. We could infer that we mostly function on a convenient form of automatic pilot. That’s why it’s so difficult to introduce meaningful changes in our lives if we rely solely on the limited faculties of the conscious mind. The real power that drives our lives exists below the surface in the vast domain of the unconscious. Yet this insight offers the promise of a richly-rewarding process that can harness the vast resources of our subconscious minds and pave the way to major improvements in every area of our lives. Let’s take a closer look.

Many traditions, both ancient and more recent, agree on the power of focused visualisation. It’s a potent technique for channelling our subconscious resources and creating precise changes in any areas that require improvement. Rather than simply thinking about the areas we wish to work on, we need to add a pair of extra ingredients to the formula in order to fully capitalise on the benefits of developing our powers of visualisation.

The first element to include after you’ve created the most perfect vision in your mind of how you want to be or how your life should appear, is to place your crystal-clear image firmly in the present moment. The subconscious has no sense of past or future. It exists in a permanent state of the present. Rooting your vision in the present tense resonates powerfully with the subconscious’s interpretation of what is happening. It’s an essential component in the quest to channel your subconscious mind’s immense power to shape reality.

The second element is to season your vision with as much emotional content as possible. This is one of the most effective ways to trigger a powerful reaction from your unconscious and embed your vision in the fabric of your unfolding reality.

?As you learn to master your imagination and create beautiful, positive and life-enhancing visions of yourself and your life, the process will become easier and your life will evolve along the lines that you have chosen for yourself.
