Visual merchandising is a very crucial part of each and every retail organisation .Visual merchandising is an art of presenting merchandise to attract the customer , to aware the customer and to promote the merchandise .It is a marketing practice to promote the merchandise to generate the revenue .

No, Visual merchandising is a Science, How ?

Visual merchandising is an art as well as a science .In human body there are 5 senses are working .

  • Eye Sight
  • Smell
  • Taste (Verbal or non verbal communication )
  • Handy Touch
  • Hearing

The Visual merchandiser is play with all the five senses of the customer in the firm or organization .Beautiful display catch the people attention which attract them into the store .Customer are buying the product that allow them to show who they are and show case their lifestyle .The visual merchandiser can play with all five senses accordingly to the different rules of visual merchandising .The primary objective the visual merchandising is Brand Building ,Increase market share in terms of sell,promote the product ,make awareness about the product, and to engage the customer .The visual merchandiser can implement different strategy or rule for the best visual display modal.

  • AIDA: A= Aware ,I= Interest D=,Desire ,A=Action

In this methodology of the visual merchandising practice we have to Attract /Aware the customer about the merchandise ,Make interesting theme ,story and perception about the merchandise , Increase the desire level to buy ,and take action to convert the visitor into customer .

  • Proper Balance & Symmetry:

In visual design the important part is proper balancing and symmetry should be need to create the appealing and effective display .

  • Colors:

The very very important part is colors in every theme setting .Colors evoke emotions and set the tone for a best shopping experience {Note :We can discuss briefly in next upcoming Parts }

  • Sight line with optimum capacity :

The Sight line is define the proper presentation & arrangement of the merchandise from left to right ,right to left up to down and down to bottom ,dark to light ,light to dark to maintain the harmony .The zoning is also a part of the sight line .The merchandise should be in optimum capacity to display neither a bit little nor more .It can also may lose the sell with proper capacity.
