Visits with Grandma...
When I was little, I loved running over to grandma's house for cookies and milk! Grandma was in her apron and the house was filled with the smell of freshly baked cookies ...but even if it wasn't I always knew where to find them, in the drawer next to the kitchen sink.
But things change and as grandma got older and needed some help taking care of herself, she found herself in a Nursing Home. She hated it there. I hated seeing her there. She would cry when I'd leave and I would cry when I left. It was such a helpless feeling and I wanted to be helpful. I started thinking about Casperson Consulting clear back then. I wanted to have Nursing Homes be a place that brought joy, not tears!
I realized back then that the only thing that really matters is that the FOOD IS GOOD, that the place is CLEAN, and you are TREATED WELL! The Government (CMS) had its own set of what they thought mattered, making the Nursing Home industry the 2nd most highly regulated industry in the nation. Don't get me wrong, HIGH STANDARDS are in my blood! I agree with setting high standards and high expectations. At the same time, I don't want to lose sight of what is really important to our residents and families; good food, clean environment and being treated well.
I am proud to say that Casperson Consulting, LLC has been launched!
At Casperson Consulting, we set our goals on helping Nursing Homes meet expectations. I have a passion for working with facility Leaders, step by step, to make sure the food is good, the facility is clean and the residents and families are treated so well there is nothing but positive reviews, all while working in the background to meet or exceed the governmental expectations.

4 年Diane you are right on the mark. My mother will turn 100 next month. She has been in a wonderful nursing home for a few years now. The administration is great, the staff is wonderful and the food, personal care and activities mirror previous home life. What you are promoting is very doable and rewarding to the nursing home, residents and their families. You have the ball, run with it and you will score big!
