Neste período recente que estive no Brasil, além de estreitar os la?os familiares com os entes queridos e de amizades de grande tempo, foi um mês de oportunidades para conhecer alguns dos projetos desenvolvidos em terras brasileiras pela equipe da Valmet, os quais me sinto orgulhoso em ter feito parte.

Um destes grandes projetos pertence à Klabin, localizado em Ortigueira-PR, denominado “Projeto Puma II”. Trata-se da instala??o das Máquinas de Papel?(MP) 27 e 28. Nestes dois projetos estive envolvido nas discuss?es e defini??es relacionadas à venda das Linhas de Fibras 1 e 2 e da planta de BCTMP pela Valmet, nos anos de 2019 e 2021. Sempre será motivo de grande alegria relembrar especialmente deste caso, pois foi neste projeto a minha primeira experiência como Engenheiro de Vendas da equipe de FPU, ainda no ano de 2016.?Aquela época, ainda muito inexperiente, acompanhei as discuss?es iniciais envolvendo o projeto da Linha de Fibras 1. Lembro de participar de reuni?es em que tive que me esfor?ar muito para tentar acompanhar da melhor forma possível as discuss?es técnicas entre a equipe da Valmet com o gabaritado time da Klabin. O projeto ent?o seguiu por mais alguns anos em fase de defini??es técnicas, até que em 2019 a t?o esperada “luz verde” foi dada e o projeto da MP 27 foi negociado. Parte deste projeto era a Linha de Fibras 1 - Fase 1, para produ??o de celulose de fibra curta n?o branqueada. Um marco para a Valmet e para minha carreira, uma vez que foi a primeira linha de fibras vendida em que eu fazia parte do time de vendas! Além da Fase 1, havia um grande planejamento por parte da Klabin para a continuidade do projeto com a implementa??o da MP 28. Para este novo projeto, além do aumento de capacidade Linha de Fibras Marrom 1, seria instalada uma nova linha de fibras, que poderia produzir tanto celulose de fibra longa como de fibra curta, além de uma planta de BCTMP, novidade no mercado brasileiro até ent?o, uma vez que seria a primeira planta de pasta mecanica branqueada a ser instalada no Brasil. Este complexo projeto se iniciaria somente após a partida da MP 27, ou seja, em meados de Abril 2021. Ainda em 2019 o projeto da MP 27 ent?o se iniciou e todos os planejamentos da Valmet e da Klabin foram executados com sucesso, tanto em fase de projeto como em execu??o, tendo sido obtido um resultado excelente para ambas as companhias. Esta excelente performance nas ilhas de processo da Valmet foi a pedra fundamental para que obtivéssemos sucesso também na negocia??o da já mencionada Fase 2 do Puma II, com a instala??o da MP 28, consequentemente da Linha de Fibras Marrom 2 e da planta de BCTMP.

Uma das fotos que apresento aqui é justamente desta negocia??o, em Abril de 2021, mais especificamente do dia 01/04/21, época em que a pandemia da Covid 19 ainda tomava conta dos noticiários e fazia parte do nosso cotidiano de forma muito pesada. Hoje podemos dizer que a pandemia já faz parte de um passado, porém nos deixou li??es para uma vida toda. é com alegria que vejo esta foto hoje e consigo perceber que continuávamos a avan?ar, mesmo com algumas condi??es desfavoráveis daquela época. Isto tudo só foi possível, pois trabalhamos em conjunto, sincronizados, como um time, o que me enche de orgulho, por ter participado desta grande conquista, e que também carrega li??es que levei adiante desde ent?o na minha carreira.

Em uma outra foto, já no início de Maio de 2023, estou na visita à Klabin, com a Linha de Fibras Marrom 1 e 2 ao fundo. A linha 1 já em pleno funcionamento, com resultados excelentes, e a linha 2 nos ajustes finais para a partida que ocorrerá em breve. Ver na realidade os equipamentos instalados e operando da forma como imaginamos na fase de vendas, além do orgulho enorme, me inspira e me faz querer ainda mais. Devo mencionar aqui que o trabalho realizado pela equipe de projetos e de execu??o da Valmet, liderada pelo meu amigo Thiago Brandalize , é de orgulhar todo o time da Valmet. A fábrica está realmente muito bonita!

Hoje um pouco mais experiente do que aquele jovem em 2016, vejo o quanto foi feito e o qu?o importante foi ter participado deste projeto para meu crescimento. Agrade?o a todos os envolvidos e a todos que tiveram paciência comigo por clarearem tantas dúvidas ao longo do caminho. Hoje, olhando para trás, me sinto feliz por ter participado de alguma forma da constru??o destes projetos e esta energia que me instiga a continuar a aprender, me aperfei?oar e contribuir para que outros projetos como esse sejam possíveis de sair do papel, agora de uma forma global, atuando em vários países do mundo, com uma vis?o ainda mais sustentável e com o pensamento de deixar um legado neste mundo em que vivemos. A última foto, enfim, já é desta nova fase da minha vida profissional, em que uma das prensas instaladas na Klabin já estava de saída do workshop da Valmet em Sundsvall - Suécia, onde hoje é o meu local de trabalho. Após esta foto a prensa foi enviada ao Brasil, onde foi instalada na Klabin e pode ser vista na foto em que estou na fábrica.

Por fim e n?o menos importante, gostaria de parabenizar a todo o time da Klabin e Valmet pela parceria e pelo sucesso no planejamento e execu??o do projeto, e agradecer a um dos responsáveis pela Klabin por este importante projeto ter se tornado um sucesso, Rodrigo Vendramini que esteve presente desde os primórdios em todas as defini??es e me ajudou muito neste caminho. O resultado mostra na prática o que é transformar recursos renováveis em resultados sustentáveis.

In this recent period that I was in Brazil, in addition to strengthening family ties with loved ones and long-standing friendships, it was a month of opportunities to visit some of the projects developed in Brazilian lands by the Valmet team, which I am proud to have been a part.

One of these large projects belongs to Klabin, located in Ortigueira-PR, called “Projeto Puma II”. This is the installation of Paper Machines (PM) 27 and 28. In these two projects I was involved in the discussions and definitions related to the sale of Fiberlines 1 and 2 and the BCTMP plant by Valmet, in the years 2019 and 2021. It will always be a source of great joy to remember this case in particular, as this project was my first experience as a Sales Engineer on the FPU team, back in 2016. At that time, still very inexperienced, I followed the initial discussions involving the Line project of Fibers 1. I remember taking part in meetings where I had to make a lot of effort to try to follow the technical discussions between the Valmet team and the Klabin team as best as possible. The project then continued for a few more years in the technical definition phase, until in 2019 the long-awaited “green light” was given and the MP 27 project was negotiated. Part of this project was Fiber Line 1 - Phase 1, to produce unbleached hardwood pulp. A milestone for Valmet and for my career, as it was the first fiberline sold where I was part of the sales team! In addition to Phase 1, there was extensive planning from Klabin for the continuity of the project with the implementation of PM 28. For this new, in addition to capacity increase in the Unbleached Fiberline 1, it would be installed a new fiber line, which could produce both softwood and hardwood pulp, in addition to a BCTMP plant, a novelty in the Brazilian market until then, since it would be the first bleached mechanical pulp plant to be installed in Brazil. This complex project would only start after the start-up of PM 27, that would be in mid-April 2021. Still in 2019, the PM 27 project then began and all Valmet and Klabin planning were successfully executed, both in the of the project and in execution, having obtained an excellent result for both companies. This excellent performance in Valmet process islands was the cornerstone for us to also succeed in negotiating of the mentioned Phase 2 of Puma II, with the installation of PM 28, consequently of Unbleached Fiberline 2 and the BCTMP plant.

One of the photos I present here is precisely from this negotiation, in April 2021, more specifically on the April 01st 2021, a time when the Covid 19 pandemic still took over the news and was a very heavy part of our daily lives. Today we can say that the pandemic is already part of the past, but it left us lessons for a lifetime. It is with joy that I see this photo today and I can see that we continued to advance, even with some unfavorable conditions at that time. All of this was only possible because we worked together, synchronized, as a team, which fills me with pride for having participated in this great achievement, and which also carries lessons that I have taken forward in my career since then.

In another photo, in early May 2023, I am visiting Klabin, with Unbleached Fiberlines 1 and 2 in the background. Line 1 is already in full operation, with excellent results, and line 2 is in the final adjustments for the start-up that will take place soon. Seeing the equipment installed and operating in real life, in the way we imagined it during the sales phase, in addition to being enormously proud, inspires me and makes me want even more. I must mention here that the work carried out by Valmet project and execution team, led by my friend Thiago Brandalize , makes the entire Valmet team proud. The mill is really beautiful!

Today, a little more experienced than that young man in 2016, I see how much has been done and how important it was to have participated in this project for my growth. I thank everyone involved and everyone who was patient with me for clearing up so many doubts along the way. Today, looking back, I feel happy for having participated in some way in the construction of these projects and this energy that instigates me to continue to learn, improve myself and contribute so that other projects like this are possible to get off the ground, now in a globally, operating in several countries around the world, with an even more sustainable vision and with the thought of leaving a legacy in this world we live in. The last photo, finally, is from this new phase of my professional life, in which one of the presses installed at Klabin was already leaving the Valmet workshop in Sundsvall - Sweden, where today is my workplace. After this photo, the press was sent to Brazil, where it was installed at Klabin and can be seen in the photo where I am at the mill.

Last but not least, I would like to congratulate Klabin and Valmet for the partnership and for the successful planning and execution of the project and to thank one of those responsible for Klabin for making this important project a success, Rodrigo Vendramini , who was present from the beginning in all definitions and helped me a lot along this path. The result shows in practice what it means to transform renewable resources into sustainable results.
