What attracted you to the programme
For me, I saw coaching as an opportunity to help me move forward in my career by helping me to address a lack of confidence which I knew was holding me back in a number of ways.
As a result of feedback (sensitively provided!) from my line manager I realised how this was impacting my growth and development and whilst I knew I needed to change, I felt slightly at a loss in knowing how to achieve this. My line manager had previously received coaching and she recommended this to me as it had helped her hugely. Knowing about her experience meant that I knew this was an opportunity I couldn’t afford to miss.
How the programme delivered to your expectations
Before going into the first session, the Coach asked me to fill in a form to set out what I wanted to learn about through the sessions and how I wanted to improve. I was slightly doubtful as to whether I would be able to achieve much over a few two hour sessions, however my low expectations were well and truly smashed as I found the 1 2 1 coaching so helpful in helping me to identify and deal with where my lack of confidence originated. As well as having time and space to consider things from a new perspective I was also set ‘homework’ by the Coach which helped me to apply what I was learning in my day to day and challenge myself.
What benefits you are seeing from the programme
Since undertaking the coaching sessions I feel much more confident in situations that previously phased me and I have even started to enjoy(!) public speaking. The Coach also taught me how I can be ‘my own Coach’ and these principles have helped me address issues and move forward from situations where I’ve had a ‘wobble’ in confidence.
In addition to this, it has also been nice to hear feedback from colleagues who have noticed a change.
