A visit to Norwalk-based PDC International Corp
PDC International, located right here in Norwalk, employees about 60 people. Had the opportunity to visit once again to check on their business.
Neal Konstantin, the owner, was very optimistic. He says business is the best it's been in 50 years. He's hiring and thanks to state investments through the Small Business Express Program he was able to purchase two new pieces of machinery.
In addition, through the work we've done in the legislature to set-up advanced manufacturing classes at Housatonic Community College, he is hiring local talent that is trained and ready to go.
I met Corey, who told me he was in a "neutral" (at best) job at his last employer and now he is excited to run a machine. It's definitely given him a path for the future.
Exciting stuff and ways in which the seeds are sprouting from the work we've done over the last few years.
Great news Bob; We have to support CT manufacturers and matching up the skills they need with our labor force and educational institutions. Manufacturing continues to be the base of our economy and supporting ways to make the sector stronger will help keep our workers employed and money in CT.
