A VISIT TO LA SCALA
Having just returned from Italy, my clients shared an intriguing story about acquiring a program brochure from the renowned LA SCALA in Milan. Eager to protect this precious item, we undertook its thoughtful framing.
The brochure highlighted Concert, Opera, and Ballet offerings. Due to its double-sided printing and having only one copy, the clients had to pick which sections to showcase.
Given the paper's delicate nature, we cleverly mounted the selected panels on a red matboard. We used a delaminated matboard surface paper to reduce thickness to prevent ghosting from the reverse side.
Accurate measurements were crucial. We crafted a three-opening mat and hinged it to sticky fomecore, ensuring impeccable positioning of the three sections.
To enhance visual depth, we introduced a single opening mat with a 3mm spacer.
For framing, we opted for a Japanned gloss black frame with a substantial rebate, accommodating the deep layered composition.
UV-filtering super clear art glass was used. To prioritize preservation and minimize fading.
Completing the assembly, we included a provision for hanging using stainless steel coated wire.
With the framing perfected, our client can now proudly exhibit and reflect upon this remarkable memento of unattainable events, unless they revisit Italy next year.
