Visit to a HV/MV station

Today we had the oppurtunity with teachers and students to visit an Enexis HV/MV station and get informed on the grid structure in the region.

The Enexis Kropswolde HV/MV station is originally a distribution station, that has to cope with the changing power transport situation due to the growing PV generation in the region and a growing industrial power demand due to electrification.

The tour of the station clearly showed that these kind of distribution stations are continuously developing to cope with the energy transition.

Thanks to our enthusiastic tour-guide Jordy Claassen from Enexis and his collegue William Hoogeveen we learned a lot about the practical implications of the energy transition and the challenges for DSO's.
