A Visit to The Hague, Netherlands
The 5th?GMS Annual European Conference began with a tour of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, organized by the Consular Liaison Committee of AILA GMS, on Wednesday, 28 February. 2024.
We enjoyed a tour of the resplendent Peace Palace that is home to the ICJ and an excellent informative presentation on all aspects of the ICJ including its establishment, organization and structure, jurisdiction and docket of contentious cases and advisory opinions.
The day long tour included a very comfortable bus ride to and from Amsterdam; break for beverages at a local coffee house; the ICJ tour and presentation; and a lovely lunch at a local pizzaria, where the owner regaled us with his humor, topped our visit by turning on great Italian music and inviting some of us to join him on the dance floor! As true Global Mobility practitioners, we fully cooperated to promote international relations!
