This month VisionSpring’s content theme focused on culture change. The process of developing a culture committed to DEI is not easy and cannot be completed in a single training session or seminar. It is a multi-step process that requires top-down engagement, a clear and compelling business case, and effective large-scale training focused on awareness building and behavior change.??

First, assess your current situation: find out where your organization is successful and where there is room to improve. Make sure to engage with employees to get an idea of how they feel about the current culture and examine hiring and promotional rates to expose any disparity in opportunity. Analyzing policies, performance, and pay equity will go a long way in determining benchmarks for the success of your new initiative. Finally, perform a gap analysis to determine where your desired future state diverges from your current state.??

Once you’ve assessed your current state and defined your strategic priorities, it’s time to design your training. Effective training focuses on your goals, must combine awareness building with skill and competency development, and should provide opportunities for learners to practice applying new concepts and skills.??
