Visionaries think by projecting into the future

VISIONARIES THINK BY PROJECTING INTO THE FUTURE

Visionaries are triggers of social, economic, or political evolution (sometimes revolution). They know how to discern the future, just as one would decipher the past. However, they do not think in terms of reactions to what has been accomplished, but in terms of projections of intentions about things that may come. They see what no one else imagined yesterday because the men and women of their time are too busy arguing about the present... when self-fulfillment is a matter for tomorrow. And if this is a constant in Man, it is because no one is ever perfectly fulfilled. The quest for well-being requires that the process of self-improvement stretch in time and space for everyone, regardless of where they live or how long they stay in this world.

VISIONARIES HELP RESOLVE CONFLICTS

The social, economic and political organization of the nation nowadays requires that visionaries multiply all the more certainly, and all the more rapidly, as the pace and extent of the complexification of inter-individual relations makes the reading of the future risky at best. When company data is simple, the prospects for managing inter-individual relationships are by definition less complicated. However, as soon as things move faster, technically and technologically speaking, then the relationships between men and women in the environment become more difficult to manage. Visionaries are needed to resolve the conflict situations that their different interpretations can lead to.

OUR SOCIETIES NEED VISIONARIES SO THAT THEY DO NOT ABORT AT THE FIRST MISSTEP

We need visionaries, much more than we need expeditionaries. The journey, by the group, will be better and more secure if the route is explained, subscribed to, and followed from the start. What only visionaries of social hope can accomplish. Without them, there can be no sustainable human exploration. And our societies need missions that do not fail at the first misstep.

TO CRITICIZE, WITHOUT CONTRIBUTING, IS TO THINK HARDER THAN ONE HAS THE PRACTICAL INTELLIGENCE TO ACT ON IT

Being a visionary does not imply being a visionary forever. Sometimes the flame is extinguished because the vision fades or distorts the collective project shared at the outset. However, men and women, stopped in the progression of their well-being, will desire, tomorrow, more and better still. Visionaries will have to respond to their pressing call for renewal if society is to continue to progress. And since nothing is eternal, because nothing is perfect, they will always be sorrowful skins to ask for more and better, without however bringing themselves better and more. To criticize, without contributing, in their case, is to think harder than one has the practical intelligence to act on it. There are always people who take advantage of a system, without contributing their fair share. Without realizing, that the free-loading attitude that this supposes for the real contributors to society's projects has a price... the price paid by the rest of society, because of their lack of contribution to the collective matter of the projects that have been started. The visionary is not a social mercenary; he is a worker of the collective, resolutely committed to community development. And all of us are understood, if not involved, in this community, even if we do not all have the collective consciousness required to enrich and support it sufficiently!
