What the Idea Is: My Vision, Strategy, Execution, Metrics (VSEM) approach to growing your business.


Why It Is Valuable: The approach starts with a common vocabulary for making decisions to drive sales growth.

Vision: communicates a sales team’s shared view of success

Strategy: represents important decisions for where and how to apply resources to accomplish the vision

Execution: outlines critical initiatives, programs, or actions that sup- port each strategy

Metrics: shows how the team measures success and agrees to be held accountable to the execution plan


How It Works: A sales leader requires collaboration from the team to build the VSEM model so everyone owns it. Fostering a culture that encourages collaborative behavior, putting processes in place to help people work bet- ter together, and assembling a portfolio of integrated technologies that facilitate collaboration are key to successfully deploying the model.?

Well said Randy Seidl Having a clear and inspiring vision for the organization is crucial as it sets direction. The strategy defines the steps needed to achieve the vision, and execution is the act of putting the strategy into action. Metrics are important as they track progress and determine success towards the vision. When these elements are aligned, the business gauges a better understanding of its goals, improves focus, and increases accountability, leading to greater chances for success.
