Vision: The First Step to Changing Your Life
I used to roll my eyes at manifestation. Now I swear by it.
Not the “picture a stack of money and it will magically appear” kind of manifestation. Not The Secret, not the Prosperity Gospel.
I’m talking about the quieter kind—the kind that takes a vision of a fulfilled life and actually increases the odds it will come to pass.
I lived this firsthand almost two years ago. After nearly 40 years in tech, I realized my career was no longer part of my compelling vision. I had a vague idea that I wanted to coach—“to bring my humanity to the workplace,” as a former colleague’s wife put it.
And that’s where most people get stuck.
The first step to manifestation is knowing exactly what you want and why it matters.
It’s not enough to say, “I want to be a coach.” That might help me try coaching, but it wouldn’t get me across the finish line. Without clarity, I’d just be making rational choices based on what I knew of the profession—and hoping for the best.
But manifestation (at least the version I believe in) isn’t about hope. It’s about training your subconscious to work for you, so both your conscious and unconscious mind filter the world in a way that pushes you toward your vision.
That requires a crystal-clear portrait of where you’re going—painted with your values, your guiding principles, the mission that drives you forward, and, most importantly, the ideal version of yourself you need to become to make it happen.
I started haphazardly. I signed up with a coach to experience it myself, then ran into all the usual fears: I’ll make less money than in tech. What if I can’t find clients? Do I need a certification?
At the time, I had no idea about manifestation beyond the magic woo-woo. But four months later, when I committed to a coaching program, I realized the program itself was helping me manifest.
We worked through our vision, values, and the rules we live by. We described, in detail, the kind of coach we wanted to become. It wasn’t just about learning how to coach—it was about embodying it.
I’m still Craig, but a different one. A more self-aware one. A better listener. A calmer presence. I understand my values more deeply and how my work aligns with them.
I see the world through a coaching lens now.
I wish I had known about these manifestation principles earlier in my career. Because when you manifest well, you become a more powerful person in pursuit of your vision. Your subconscious starts filtering out the noise and surfacing what matters to your vision.
It all starts with clarity.
To help with this critical first step, I’ve created a free “Preparing to Win” pamphlet, available atcraigblitzcoaching.com. It walks you through five exercises to set you on the path to manifesting your ideal future.
