VISION changes

 Messe Stuttgart waited a long time before announcing a new date for VISION. Now it has been fixed: the world's leading trade fair for machine vision will open its doors at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre from 5 to 7 October 2021. Following an intensive survey of exhibitors and visitors at VISION, a clear majority of those questioned (75% of exhibitors and 81% of visitors) were in favour of bringing the trade fair forward, i.e. they did not want to wait until the next regular date in 2022 after VISION had been cancelled. This would have meant a period of four years between the two trade fairs, which would have been far too long. For this reason, VISION will in future be held in the odd-numbered years and no longer in the same year as automatica. There are also some (smaller) changes: for example, VISION will now take place at the beginning of October - at the same time as Motek - and no longer at the beginning of November. This will result in interesting opportunities for visitors to the trade fair(s): in addition to the machine vision components which are the main focus of VISION, visitors will also find more solution offerings at Motek in future. This means that VISION will indirectly expand its range of users. We will see in October 2021 whether this is reflected in higher visitor numbers. Until then, I am pleased that I will not have to wait two years for the next VISION and that I will still be able to travel to Stuttgart.
