Visualize your goals
You must have heard that statement zillion times in the past decade. Almost every life coach, trainer, guru, and other learned beings tell you to visualize what you want to achieve in the future.
According to the book The Secret, “The law of attraction is forming your entire life experience and it is doing that through your thoughts. When you are visualizing, you are emitting a powerful frequency out into the Universe.”
Visualization is a powerful technique that instills confidence, gives clarity and manifests your desire into the universe. One of the most effective and easy visualization techniques is making Vision Boards.
A vision board is a dedicated space that displays your desires in a tangible way. It focuses on what you want to achieve, your vision for yourself. It helps you focus, gives you clarity and help you attract energy to pursue your end goal.
How does it work?
Energy goes where attention flows.
Vision board works on the simple concept of attracting your attention in a focused manner. When you make a vision board you are basically telling your mind in an affirmative way that this is what want to have in near future. Once your mind knows, it subconsciously starts scanning your surroundings for items related to your vision. When you continue paying attention time and again, you will start attracting the same things in your life. The more you pay attention the more you attract energies that support you in your journey.
How to make a vision board?
It is a technique that is unique to each individual. The underlying rule is that you are a creator of your own vision, it should be yours and yours only.
Step 01: Focus on what you want
While making one, you need to focus on
- Your goals. It could be a car you want to buy, the weight you want to lose, the job you feel passionate about.
- How you would feel when you achieve. Think about how you would feel, the sense of satisfaction, the feeling of pride, blissful peace
Step 02: Create Compartments
Our life is divided into multiple sections, our family, profession, friends, health, and self. It may be different for you. Like I said vision board is unique to its creator. The main reason of this step is to create compartments in your vision so that they don't overlap on each other. The more clarity the better it will work.
Step 03: Gather your materials
This is the most fun step of the vision board. You need to gather images that is as close as possible to your vision. It can be a magazine or a newspaper cut out or something that you have seen online, it can be an old photograph. There are two rules that are at work at this step.
- Put up only the things that you want, nothing that you want to avoid should find a place on the board. That means a lot of cropping.
- Be as descriptive as possible.
Once your cuttings are in place, paste them on a bulletin board, a cardboard sheet, a drawing sheet.
Give yourself ample time to make this. Some people take weeks to finish and some do it in one seating.
Step 04: Display
Once you are done with designing your board, it is very important that you display it. The rule is to see the board every day so that conscious as well as unconscious mind starts reading and recording it.
You can visit a vision board as many times as you want.
Just start! It may not be be perfect and can certainly be a work in progress.
Have fun, and see what happens! The Universe might just surprise you.
