The Visible Expert Revolution- a brief review

The Visible Expert Revolution- a brief review

In 2014, Lee Frederiksen , with co-authors Elizabeth Harr and Sylvia Montgomery introduced "The Visible Expert- How to create industry stars. And why every professional services firm should care." Shortly thereafter, Lee made his first of several appearances on my show, Amtower Off Center. Listen our latest about the new book.

We have been friends ever since, and we both cherish those times when we get together to discuss everything about the evolving process of developing thought leadership positions in the market.

I knew it was coming because i was interviewed for it, but here at last is The Visible Expert Revolution: How to Turn Ordinary Experts into Thought Leaders, Rainmakers and Industry Superstar s by Lee with co-authors Liz Harr and Karl Feldman .

The new book does not disappoint and covers the range of activities necesasry to build a visible expert market position.

  • Why become a visible expert (VE)
  • Four steps to becoming a VE
  • Claiming your niche and developing a perspective
  • Five VE styles
  • Researching your audience and three types of research
  • Developing your visibility plan
  • Creatng a visibility toolkit
  • Implementing your plan
  • The never-ending process of sharpening your expertise, including networking with your peers

And much more.

This is a short book and an easy read, chock full of ideas that can and should be used by any and every business person willing to put in the time and effort to stand out in a crowded field. The timid need not apply.

There are no tangible benefits to being an expert in a vacuum.

BUY THIS BOOK!

Not that I have an opinion.

Based on your recommendation I bought the kindle version and read it last night. It is an excellent document even tho I’m not interested in increasing my value as a visible expert. It has ideas of value even when I’m dealing only with state and local Govt types. I’m on vacation in West Coast for two weeks but we need to get together for a breakfast when I’m back in Bethesda. Hello to the Curator. You’ll have to let me know what it’s like to be a curator.
