“Being the best kept secret” is costing you $$$

by Rushauna Beckles

You started your business to support others by creating solutions to problems that you faced.

But as you got deeper into entrepreneurship, feelings of not?being enough?and?imposter syndrome?took over, leading to not showing up “consistently” to post content, network, and ask for referrals.?

Here’s how being the best-kept secret is costing ??:

  • no revenue is coming in
  • buying courses and content calendars to get clients?
  • expenses (CRM systems, software, etc.)
  • your mental health (falling behind on bills)
  • doing "free work" or heavily discounting your prices
  • doing "busy work" (administration, clearing out your inbox, tinkering with your website, etc.) instead of focusing on money-generating activities

The problem is that people don’t know who you are and how you can help them. Meaning people can not buy something that they don’t know EXISTS!

So start growing your business’s visibility aka TALK TO PEOPLE about your business.

Talk to people through your content and individually, so that they can build the “know, like, trust factor!” Build genuine relationships with people where it’s not only transactional but also beneficial to your pockets.

Focus on reciprocity!?

Think about how you can be a resource to your community.?

For example, as a lawyer, partner with an HR consultant to speak about an employee’s rights (many people are wrongly fired or forced to go to work ill rather than call in sick).

Or can you collaborate with an accountant or a Chambers of Commerce in your area to give a talk on when to put a lawyer on retainer!?

You are more than ENOUGH right now!!!!

You have all that is needed right now to start getting clients. You have the knowledge, the skills, the experiences, the personality, and the resources. Everything you need is already in you! Now….you just gotta believe that!

So show up as you are with all your quirks and fears to give people the opportunity to get to know and work with you. ;)

Hooooowdy!!! :) I’m Rushauna Beckles, a bread-making visibility coach and navigator! I support solo service providers to get visible by creating opportunities and collaborations to get in front of other businesses’ communities to promote their services

How do you approach new technology?

by Nancy Zare, Ph.D.

Earned. Learned. Spurned.

How do you approach new technology?

Earned is the path of do-it-yourselfers. They jump in, immerse themselves, and play around for hours until they master it.

Learned is the path of students. They read books, watch videos, and hire professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to instruct them.?

Spurned is the path of decliners. They initially reject new technology and, if need be, pay others to do it for them.

Recently, I added a new podcast technology to my toolbox.

I’m excited that production time can be accomplished in under 10 minutes!

At the same time it creates show notes, summaries, transcriptions, and subtitles, it also generates brief clips and posts for social media.

What a game-changer for people who are podcasters!

While I’m not intimidated by technology, I choose to invest my time in activities that generate intrinsic joy, namely serving clients.

Technology drains my energy. Conversing fuels me.

You know I'm all about #collaboration for everyone to increase revenue. I love this idea: partnering with an HR consultant to discuss employee rights or collaborating with an accountant or local Chamber of Commerce to educate businesses on the importance of having a lawyer on retainer.
