As we continue in what appears, at the moment, to be an elongated period where we have to contend with the threat and spread of SARS-CoV-2 (“Covid-19"), in addition to now greatly heightened awareness and caution to other viruses and bacteria present in our every day lives, it is vital that we have a proper containment plan which can be adopted by businesses and households across the country.
No single solution exists to tackle this and as such, a cohesive plan is necessary which consists of up to three stages:
1. Surfaces require to be generally cleaned. To tackle any viruses or bacteria present, the surface itself must be clean and free from general dirt. To achieve this, standard cleaning practices must continue across the environment, perhaps with the added addition of anti-bacterial cleaning products which may not necessarily have been used in the past.
2. A continual “active” containment measure should be installed on high-touch areas such as door handles, door push panels, light switches, keypads (chip/pin, ATMs, vending machines), multi-user touchscreen devices, railings on escalators or stairs, etc. The active measure works 24/7 on a continuous basis without human intervention.
3. For high-risk venues such as hospitals, care homes, etc as well as very high footfall areas, full room/area sanitisation should be deployed such as ozone or hydrogen peroxide machines which have both proven to be very effective.
Elytraa are exclusive distributors in Europe of RIKEGUARD? Anti-Viral/Anti-Bacterial films from Japan. The films offer the continual “active” solution required as stage 2 of the above outlined plan.
