Psilocybin Sessions: Psychedelics could help people with addiction and anxiety

Many of us are familiar with the terms, "Hardware and Software Upgrades." There are a few more that come from the computer and cybernetic sciences that have emerged during the pandemic. Terms like Reboot and Reset. There are also hot-start and cold start, firmware upgrade, memory dump, cache clearing, core dump, etc. After all, communications systems, then computing, used biomimicry to connect technology to humans. Multiple fields emerged from there like Ergonomics and Social Engineering.

A more recent term is Wetware. The term had origins from the traumatic brain injury field but also applies to psychedelic experiments exploring advanced human capacities.

As a lifelong student of the Human Potential Movement, I have interest in the various perspectives of changing and even upgrading our mind.

From the computer sciences, we developed a process called a firmware upgrade where we literally overwrite a memory device that the computer utilizes for its operating system. There is a similar kind of mind wipe that is commonplace with Near Death Experiences.

These NDEs have produced "enlightened" people who had what I call the bounce, where they reach such a low point emotionally where physical death is in proximity. Either self imposed or circumstantially.

Then we have Right of Passage ceremonies where various forms of "toxins" from frogs, snakes, or plants are used for Vision Quests.

Many have reported dying during those experiences, yet they come back to reality with a different perspective of life.

We can even reference the Astronauts who are immersed in an alien environment, energetically; who have had profound experiences referred to as the "Overview Effect."

Many of them have gone on to write books and teach others about the "reality" of how consciousness works.

If there ever was a time to utilize methods to upgrade humankind's state of consciousness, it is Now!

A common denominator with many, if not most, of these Psychonautical Experiences, is the realization of unity, entanglement, symbiosis, oneness.

Perhaps humankind's Wetware Upgrade, or Evolutionary Leap involves our perceptual orientation toward our habitat and each other. The wisdom traditions held by indigenous people's has become a guiding light on how we need to deeply adapt our society to harmonize with nature and our astronauts are conveying the same message.

Others have proposed that humankind has been inflicted with a virus of the mind called "Wetiko" that has prevented us from evolving or authentically progressing as a species. Also See - Viruses of the Mind
