The Virtue Of Lists
I am now about 3 weeks into this new endeavour and I have found, much to my surprise, that I have been extremely organised! Which, despite my previous vocations, is not a state that comes naturally. In fact, I was forever lectured on the virtues of list writing as an essential tool for organisation and planning. Advise that at the time I did not heed. Yet, now here I am banging out lists every day. love em! Who would have known!
The trick with lists tho, is that you really need to understand how long a task will take. For example, and yes I am still talking about this, I have been updating my on line presence with new images and witty prose. A task I had given about a weekend to. But a task that in fact I have been caught in a perpetual, endless hell in for about 3 weeks. When embarking on this radical shift, I expected to be draped in overalls and covered in paint, not cowering behind a lap top screen, however I can now say it is done! And I can move on with my life.
And as I have emerged from my headache inducing project, I have noticed a very different landscape unfolding. Freelance lifestyle! An entirely new demographic has presented its self to me. Local cafe's full of enterprising (and highly relaxed), individuals all performing executive, important undertakings and business meetings whilst wearing hoodies and patting their dogs. Not an activity I have yet built into my lists, but I will be making time for observations!
I am also trying to make time for "CPD's" and last week went to see the exceptional Gaugain show at the National Gallery. That could be a blog in itself. But go, it's great! Although now seems a little expensive.
Now, for those more observant followers of my posts, you may have noticed a pattern in my blogs, where by I slowly feed you more of my work and then offer a discount! This is to be no exception and true to form here is the next instalment. I figured I would now take you up to date. Just to recap on where I left you last time, my squiggly animals series was an attempt to loosen up and be more expressive, with the aim of bringing in back to my more narrative focussed work. Here is a chronological journey of hopefully how that has manifested!
