Virtual Reality Therapy with Nik Vassev

Virtual Reality Therapy with Nik Vassev

As someone who has struggled with mental health issues, like depression and anxiety before I got to learn about mindfulness, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find effective treatment. Traditional therapy can be helpful, but it can also be limited in its ability to provide remote, exclusive and dedicated help, for example. That's why I was excited to learn about the potential of virtual reality (XR) technology to be used for therapeutic experiences and mental health.

When I finished XR Design and XR Development, I created a Demo Project about an app that could help patients that are going through cancer and even their families. I was very surprised when months later I saw someone from the states creating an app with a very close storyline that I even proposed during that public demo. I contacted the team at their start-up and called them for an interview, so we had a chat about their app and what benefits specifically they propose in the mental health area.?

In today’s episode, we invited Nik Vassev, the co-founder of Rocket VR Health. Discover the benefits of virtual reality therapy and learn about the latest research in this field.

The main highlights of this podcast are:?

  1. How does delivering mental health therapy in VR compared to traditional therapy methods?
  2. What are the benefits of using VR for mental health therapy, specifically in terms of engagement and interactivity?
  3. What kind of research is being conducted to support this approach?
  4. What are the technical challenges of implementing the mechanics for immersive therapeutics?

Morpheus Launches Turnkey VR Enterprise Solution

VR collaboration platform Morpheus announced on Tuesday it had launched its virtual reality (VR) remote collaboration platform to boost engagement across enterprises.

According to the virtual-first company, it aims to provide a one-stop shop for firms seeking to create healthier corporate cultures, reduce Zoom fatigue, and “future-proof their business.”

The development comes after the enterprise raised $2.2 million USD in pre-seed funding. Companies such as Incisive Ventures, DVC Fund, Primal Capital, and others contributed to the pre-seed round.

Named after the Greek god of shapes, forms, and dreams, Morpheus will also offer its platform to Fortune 2000 firms, complete with high-fidelity virtual spaces, an immersive experiences marketplace, and a catalogue of VR services, including onboarding and headset deployments.

The novel platform aims to tackle companies “overwhelmed” with VR adoption by guiding firms with bespoke roadmaps for VR utilisation, both internally and long term. Such efforts aim to boost real-world return on investment (ROI) for companies working with teams in disparate locations.
