Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence in the classroom
Ange Anderson
Therapeutic &Technological interventions advisor.Author and conference speaker.
New technologies and ongoing developments in the fields of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence are changing the ways in which we facilitate learning. my book introduces you to the latest technologies and how we made use of them in the school that I was head of for ten years.
The book also highlights why traditional methods are failing the children of today .particularly those children who learn differently to the ordinary child.
The book devotes chapters to the learning opportunities the latest technologies provide for students with learning differences and provides resources that anyone can copy and use for free.
Many students with learning difference tend to learn better using visual support as it seems to help them retain and process information. Creating virtual and augmented environments can help them to relate to the real world more easily.
Students with added severe learning difficulties respond better to a Virtual Reality room experience or an augmented reality experience . I have found that they cant tolerate the wearing of headsets for more than a few minutes at most. My book shows you how to set up such a room and provides the policies, risk assessments and resources needed.
There is a technological revolution going on and this new technology can change the lives of our students. It is incumbent on all schools to act now in providing this technology.
My book is published by Routledge and available at all good booksellers.
