Virtual Production City!

Very excited to share some news with everyone!

Alessio Marciello and I have been hard at work creating Virtual Production City, a scene that can be used for Virtual Production in ASSIMILATE Live FX, and this is a first look at the work in progress!

This is a packaged project, in other words a Windows game that is a standalone .exe file, which means you don't even need Unreal Engine installed on the host machine for this to work!

We have big plans for it, but in the short term it will make our lives much easier for doing tradeshows and demonstrations with our partners and friends.

I do hope to shoot something on it soon, so if you have a project in mind and you're in LA, definitely let me know!

Driving Plates anyone?

One of the ideas for this, is to create a few setups that can work for driving plates, where our clients would work with us before the shoot to plan routes, speeds, number of cars/people etc. and we can quickly customize the scene to work for the project.

Filming driving plates is a very expensive and tricky process, and sometimes you need customization that you just can't do unless you block off streets, and control all the physical cars in the area.

It is even possible to tie animation from physical controllers to the Unreal Engine scene, to allow the actors to drive the animation.

And even more important, what if you want to physically wreck the vehicle? Why not animate it so the actors can film all their parts on the stage!

LED and Green Screen compatible

Both have their own considerations, but the projects we're building have both workflows in mind.

Day or Night

Light can be manipulated through Web Remote, and even now, we have lights on in certain areas to work for night shoots.
