Virtual Pathways to Bali

Virtual Pathways to Bali

"Despite not being able to travel to Bali, we could still help make a difference,"?reflected Niko, who was one of six participants on last week's virtual mission team to Bali, Indonesia. The team was hosted by the All Saints Orthodox Church in Bali and its pastor, Fr. Stephanos, one of OCMC’s SAMP priests. Through Zoom, the team offered several presentations about parish life. They discussed topics from the role of the priest to the raising of children.

Bali's biggest religion is Hinduism, followed by Islam. Christians make up a small minority, and Orthodox Christians are a small fraction of that. The Orthodox Church is growing, however, and Fr. Stephanos shared his deep gratitude:?“Bless God! Thank you to our family from abroad, for teaching us about the Orthodox life.”

The team members were encouraged too, as lasting bonds were formed. "The community in Bali were such gracious hosts that I couldn't help feeling joyful and rejuvenated after our time together," recalled Kelsey.?"This experience was such a blessing."

We?have more virtual teams?like this?coming up!?Click here for the list?or contact [email protected]?to join one of these teams today!
