Virtual crowd?

Virtual crowd?

OOoooo, it's tricky isn't it, being part of the crowd? Always was, now still true, more than ever...You see, when you take the audience online and remove all the other sensor checks, well...it's nigh on impossible to definitely gage what you're saying is good or happily received.

As a seasoned presenter, I love the buzz of bouncing off a crowd....

Seeing sparks of recognition bubble and brew.

Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful to still be able to speak to an big bunch of people, no zoom gloom for me...just a certain sense of unsettlement as goal posts (now online and not off...in an auditorium/meeting room...you remember those...) have shifted and made me less sure of impact.

We'll get better, smarter, clearer.

But, it's a new level of 'I can do this' to overcome. And I don't even have a cat to consult!

So, people who hear me blather, thanks for being patient as we presenters get better...

We're our own biggest critics, be kind as we learn new skills!

I’m the same. It’s the absence of Communication cues in the virtual world that throw me and I cannot judge how I am doing
