Virtual Conference Solves Three Common Roadblocks to Dealer Education

Virtual Conference Solves Three Common Roadblocks to Dealer Education

Carrie and I have been planning and running automotive conferences for 10 years. Just like you, our work life and business model was forced to be quickly reimagined due to COVID-19. After much consideration to uphold our legacy for high-quality, live educational events we decided to take the 11th Annual Digital Marketing Strategies Conference (DMSC) virtual.

While our events always attract the top dealers and leaders in the automotive industry we are acutely aware of three practical concerns that holds many managers back from attending our live conferences. Let's review them and see how a virtual conference model resolves these concerns. You can read the story below or if you prefer, watch this video.

Time Out of The Dealership - While many dealership owners and managers support ongoing education, there are many who feel that taking 2-3 days out for a conference is too costly. The cost is not just in airfare, hotels, and meals but in potential lost revenue. In addition, dealer principals and General Managers often have multiple OEM educational events throughout the year so another conference might be hard to put in their schedule.

Too Many Activities Scheduled At the Same Time - It is very common for conferences to have concurrent workshop sessions running throughout the day. This prevents attendees from seeing all the content and speakers that matched their interests in the conference program. Also many conferences do not record all sessions in a clear, engaging video format. This makes it difficult to learn concepts that were shared by scanning a supplied PowerPoint deck from the workshop presenter.

Hard To Communicate Concepts and Ideas Learned - How many times have you attended a conference and returned back to the office and can't read your own notes? Many dealership owners require their managers to summarize what they learned from a conference and this is a real challenge. Especially when the ideas shared are outside of the expertise of the manager. This can often result in the dealer principal minimizing the educational impact that the conference has on creating better operational efficiencies.

A Solution

The DMSC virtual conference resolves all three of these common concerns by:

  1. A virtual event eliminates airfare, hotel, and travel downtime. It also solves the current health concerns that most people have regrading air travel or large gatherings.
  2. Every session will be recorded so ticket holders can see all speakers, keynotes, panels, and workshops. The videos will be in high quality, HD format, with a mix of pre-recorded and live Q&A to make each session exciting and engaging.
  3. Attendees can pick which live sessions to attend (July 13th and 14th) so they can ask questions and engage with their peers on topics they care about.
  4. All DMSC sessions will be online for 30 days so dealership managers can replay the sessions that were of interest with their leadership team present. This eliminates translation errors and allows for a more collaborative approach to new ideas.

Bonus For Dealer Groups

Dealer groups should also look at DMSC Virtual conference as an effective way to educate their teams and start engaging conversations on areas of change in the business. Dealership managers can attend the sessions that interest them and then the dealer group can hold a Zoom meeting to discuss the most compelling ideas shared at DMSC.

For larger dealer groups, I can also be booked to facilitate online meetings with managers to discuss the topics from the conference that interested the managers. Think of DMSC 2020 as the dealer group own internal conference with a post-DMSC review with me and selected industry leaders.

Bonus for All Dealers with Early Bird Tickets

All dealers who purchase their DMSC tickets before June 30th get an additional bonus day of content for 30 days. The bonus day includes amazing training workshops from my online courses that normally cost hundreds of dollars, which would be posted online in the conference website for 30 days. The workshops are all listed on the DMSC website, but the workshop topics include Digital Retailing, Google My Business, Google Analytics, SEO, Social Media, Branding, Website Optimization, and more.

These extra workshops will not be available for any ticket at any price level after June 30th.
