Virginia K-12/Higher Education and DCJS: Partnering for Prepared Educational Communities

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, Division of Law Enforcement, Active Shooter Training cadre recently completed (6) ALERRT Civilian Response Casualty Care (CRCC) deliveries to our partners at Virginia Highland Virginia Community College (Abingdon), Franklin County/Rocky Mount public schools, and Central Virginia Community College (Lynchburg).

We talk a lot about mission within professional training circles, rightly so. Part of our noble objective is directly impacting our community stakeholder groups...social, economic, and political, with proven educational initiatives. Why...? Because many people just don't know, what they don't know. It's our duty (and privilege) to provide them with evidence based knowledge to build their collective capabilities.

Lessons learned over the past several decades continue to point directly to this fact: Everyone should assign value to their personal safety and resiliency, investing in skills that can directly impact their life and others.
