5 things I learnt by listening to the first 2 chapters.
1) Life lessons
Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever
You must have a thirst to live every moment of your life with full enthusiasm and happiness and to learn everyday.
2) Opportunities
Say you are playing Cricket / Baseball / " in Life" You are going to miss every ball you don't take.
Same in life , you are going to miss every opportunity you don't take. You must try and participate in every opportunity.
Also its good to give opportunities to people around you. Give a 2nd chance to people who are looking to restart and improve in their life.
In my personal life, We must also try and give ourselves chance to do anything and if we fail that's fine, you have an opportunity to try again to succeed.
3) Perspective
You can choose to the see the positive in everyone.
If you find yourself criticizing anyone, Just go at look at yourself in the mirror for 5 minutes. (Look at your life).
4) Listening and Note taking
Listening is one of the most important skills. When you talk to someone, do the following
Tune in completely into listening to them intently (Not hearing, LISTENING)
Don't think of what reply you want to give to sound smart.
You need not add anything if its not necessary, Just listen and appreciate.
When in a conference or a meeting or an interview, take notes. Its a really good habit that helps you a lot.
You don't miss key points in your meetings.
You need not remember everything.
You can jot down your ideas as well.
5) Access
- You wanna get help,
Reach out to people, ask them questions and listen to them. Take notes and follow up
- You wanna help,
reach out to your team or employees or friends etc.
You must be accessible as much as possible, and listen to the queries of people, ask them questions and again listen intently.
