Be nice.
Make people happy.

Linked-In is meant to be about business and advancing careers. With that in mind I'd like to suggest that volunteering, (though rather low pay), brings benefits and even profits you.
On Thursday I got a text from the NHS: "Don't come in until sick for at least a week."
For the record, there is no factual basis to assume that this was personally directed at me. I haven't made an NHS employee angry in quite some time (as far as I know).
This is instead the NHS's plea for help. It's going to be overwhelmed by people who /really/ need the NHS's help.
I wanted to do my part, so I took the flyer from this web page:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/14/coronavirus-campaign-launched-offering-help-to-those-self-isolating
...printed off many copies, filled my information in, and have today walked my street offering free help to anyone that feels the need to self-isolate.
Even though my village has a very active facebook group, I was rather surprised at how many people didn't even know what facebook is, let alone have an account there.
These folks are usually the ones that are square in the virus' sights: 70+ years old, single, or sometimes married.
I hear you saying "enough with all the emotional mumbo-jumbo, how does this make me profits?"
My mercenary friend, you profit by slowing the progress and infection rate of this virus as much as possible.
Take a look at this: https://www.flattenthecurve.com/
You *want* to protect society as much as possible here. The slower the virus goes, and the fewer the number of people infected, the more likely the virus will die off this year, or at the very least you'll have a fighting chance of medical care if you do get the virus.
The sooner it dies off, the sooner we can get back to advancing our careers.
Is that enough to convince you? Don't decide yet: there's more!
As I walked my neighbourhood, the relief and reassurance that I got from some people as I passed out my contact details were palpable.
So, helping society means helping yourself, and getting thanks and smiles back. Win!
Please consider printing off a few of these flyers and give them out, pass them out, or do as I did and go door to door.
If each of us were able to help just 5 others, we'd have no-one left behind.
Won't you join me?
