?You will be wondering, Who is Viraj Mithani?

?When Viraj Mithani was a child, he picked up a blank piece of paper, poured his imagination on the paper, and realised what he wanted from his life. When he finished his ten, he decided to pursue the art profession. His father was not happy with his decision to be an artist. During that time, he got support from his sister and mother.

?As we know India is a country where Art is taught to children as a side subject, and there is no opportunity for children to make their career in Art. He faced the same situation. But it didn't stop him from pursuing his art dream when a competition occurred in the college he participated in. To give wings to his dream, he went to London in 2011, where he studied at the University of Arts. While studying there, he was not convinced by the education system, so he shifted his study to the School of Art institution in Chicago in 2012.

?Why did he Build Carpe Arte?

He says India is a country of contemporary Art, but we lost our Art and culture due to colonisation. Additionally, he said the Indian population's knowledge related to Art ends with Picasso. India has forgotten the rich culture of Art. India has created the paintings of Warli and Madhubani with organic products.

?Viraj wanted every person in India to understand the meaning of Art and support India Contemporary Art, so in 2017 he founded Carpe Arte. Carpe Arte, where he created a community of like-minded people to support India Contemporary Art. He and his team wanted Art to be more accessible, so he organised a gallery walk and talk place.

?During the pandemic, he built an online community to help people navigate the art space. As people are learning new skills during the pandemic or fulfilling their old ambitions, building an online community is a great idea of Viraj Mithani.

?He believes Art is unknown territory for many people. You know what you will get in a movie hall, but not in an art gallery.

?Who is Viraj Currently and what currently he is doing?

?Viraj Mithani is a 28 years-old artist and educator. His artist flow in the form of painting, print, drawing, and sculpture. He exhibited his work in solo and group shows across the world. The exhibitions where he showcases his Art are Clark house in Mumbai, Dalarnas Museum Falun, Spudnik Press co-operative in Chicago, and other places.

?Currently, he is pursuing a master's course at the Rhode Island School of Design in the US. And he is currently working with a mix of painting and printmaking to reflect the complexity of globalisation.

?His future mission.

?Viraj is an artist who desires to combine technology with Art, as Indian Art is never going to find its day in the sun. Additionally, he wants to combine Indian art with western influences and create something that fits into pop culture as he grew up listening to mythological tales.
