VinFast to stage e-SUVs VF7 and VF9 at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

VinFast, a Vietnamese EV manufacturer, has teased the audience with glimpses of its upcoming electric sports utility vehicles(SUVs) VF7 and VF9, soon to be displayed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, scheduled from Jan.17-21.?

The VF7 electric car is a five-seater ride which comes with a swoopy, crossover-like appearance complemented by sleek lights at the front and rear in a design of VinFast’s “V”. In the international market, the vehicle comes in the Eco and the Plus trim levels, both powered by a 75.3kWh (net) battery pack. However, in terms of power, the Eco variant features a single motor that can generate 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, whereas, the Plus’s dual motor powers the ride with 354 horsepower and 500 Nm.

The VF7 Eco has a WLTP-rated range of 450 km, whereas the Plus has a range of 431 km, as claimed by the VinFast. Although both the trim levels have a Level 2 ADAS suite installed, the alloy wheels of the Eco are 19 inches and 21 inches for the Plus. Moreover, the Eco gets a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen while the Plus gets a 15-inch screen.

Other differences between the two trims include the alloy wheels, which are 19 inches for the Eco and 20 or 21 inches for the Plus, and the infotainment touchscreen, which is 12.9 inches for the Eco and 15 inches for the Plus. But by default, both have a Level 2 ADAS suite installed.

The biggest e-SUV in VinFast's international lineup, the VF9, is a three-row SUV that can fit six or seven passengers and is larger than the Audi Q7 overall. The Eco and Plus variants of the VF9 share a 123kWh battery pack, a dual-motor AWD system with 408 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque, and a claimed WLTP range of up to 531 km. Weighing 2,911kg, the Eco model of the vehicle is only available in the 7-seat configuration and accelerates from 0-40kmph in only 6.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the Plus trim level which weighs 2.959 to 2,968 at the curb can make the same acceleration in 6.7 seconds, subject to the vehicle’s seating configuration.?
