It’s not just necessary for growth—it’s necessary for survival. Sometimes change can be uncomfortable, but that discomfort is nothing compared to what you’ll often face if you refuse to change at all.

We’re proud to be an organization that has never stagnated in both the way we think and work. It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it. We have transformed ourselves to meet the evolving needs of our clients and their industries. It also means staying limber in how we think about ourselves, but never forgetting the soul of who we are. Last year we rewrote and restated our values and mission—it was a change, but one that reaffirmed the truth of who we have always been. The past 15 years have contained a number of remarkable operational changes as well. EIS, our millwright and rigging team, joined Vincit.

Zee Company began shipping Microtox ?, the premier intervention option for food processors. QSI has expanded all the way to California. We built and opened our new master warehouse in Chattanooga. All throughout the group, positive changes have been happening. As we approach our 50th anniversary this July, I’m excited about our prospects. Our company represents the American success story—a small family business that grows into a multifaceted enterprise, only achieved through a willingness to recognize and embrace changing markets and client needs.

Everyone is faced with a choice: lead with change or follow. We have chosen to lead by identifying the principles we believe in and acting on them. Adopting cultural safety shifts with a foundation built from all voices, protecting our environment by investing in solar energy, recognizing the power of education by donating needed tools, and embracing a more respectful workplace community are just a few examples of how we continue to lead through positive change.

From four people to over 6,000, from seven products to over 1,500, from one company to eight, we didn’t achieve this by doing the same thing over and over. I cannot say for sure where we will be as a company in 2068, but I do know that, to continue to be successful, we will need to continue to lead. And that can only happen through Change.
