What an unbelievable roller coaster of a week for Mark Zuckerberg. From having the eyes of the world on him alongside fellow CEOs of the other major social media platforms in a Senate hearing including a dramatic apology to parents in attendance, to then reporting a big rebound in Meta’s Q4 earnings report. Wow.
INSTAGRAM: Adam Mosseri is speaking my language! I start every social media strategy with goals. What is the purpose of what you’re doing on these platforms?
?
LINKEDIN: The platform emailed this significant update to Creator mode last week. I’m excited about the potential of the Creator tools being available to all personal profiles soon. I see the additional analytics and the Newsletter capability as being the two biggest advantages of Creator mode, so I’m looking forward to those features being opened up to more profiles.???
LINKEDIN: This could come in handy in so many instances. Searching for particular posts on LinkedIn has always been a struggle, until now.?
?
PINTEREST: The CEO of this platform drives the message home that Pinterest is the one non-toxic social media platform every chance he gets.
?
SOCIAL MEDIA: Facebook blows every other platform away except for YouTube.
SOCIAL MEDIA: There are six brand new emojis, four new family emojis that are non-gender-specifying, and more…
SOCIAL MEDIA: This is the year to experiment with short-form video if you aren’t already.

SOCIAL MEDIA: So many takeaways here from X being WAY down the list, Threads coming back, and Instagram overtaking TikTok in some spots due to what I included in my last newsletter - users getting annoyed by TikTok Shop.
SOCIAL MEDIA: No surprise here as the trend of social news consumption continues.
THREADS: This is the final missing piece to the Threads puzzle. The platform needs a trending section.
TIKTOK: If you notice muted audio in the app, this might be why.
?
TIKTOK: Yes to more accessibility.
?
TIKTOK: Any brand can incorporate humor to some extent.
TIKTOK: This news has me perplexed. I’m not really sure what TikTok’s doing here, but I’m going to be keeping an eye on it to see if more and more of the platform goes sideways or if it phases out.
